Ok ketemu lagi dengan MEW PaintPhobia :) . . . kali ini aku mo bahas tentang Automation Clip. Secara harfiah sudah terlihat "AUTO" artinya otomatis berlaku sesuai dengan apa yang telah kita set. Contoh simple nya adalah proses Fade in / Fade out, reverb sebagian, stutter pada bagian tertentu dll. Kenapa bisa seperti itu?? padahal jika kita kenai FX pada mixer, maka FX tersebut berlaku dari awal hingga akhir musik. Nah intinya adalah BAGAIMANA KITA MENGAKTIFKAN FX ATAU AKTIVITAS PADA BAGIAN TERTENTU SAJA, untuk itulah kita berlakukan Automation Clip.

Jika kita membuka fruity loop studio, maka ada beberapa knop yg tampak, pada mixer pun demikian. Coba kita KLIK KANAN pada sebuah knob, ada pilihan CREATE AUTOMATION CLIP, nah artinya adalah kita membuat automation pada fungsi knob tersebut :)

Jika slider Master Volume pada mixer kita terapkan automation clip, maka pada playlist akan muncul grafik Automation Clip, nah kita atur pergerakan slider tersebut dengan mengatur point grafik yang ada di playlist:

Untuk menambahkan NODE (titik sudut pada Automation Clip) pilihlah menu STEP (yang ditunjuk anak panah merah). Gambarlah grafik Automationnya.
Untuk membuat garis tegak lurus Vertikal, tekan SHIFT saat menggeser Node

Automation ini bisa diimplementasikan pada knob2 yang tersedia fasilitas Automation, sehingga kita kudu kreatif dalam menggunakannya, tidak terikat pada master volume saja :)

Menggunakan PEAK Controller

Peak Controller, jika dibahas menurut nama, maka sudah jelas bahwa metode kerja dari Controller ini berdasarkan PEAK level dari instrument. Dalam hal ini yang kita gunakan adalah Fruity Peak Controller. Beberapa lagu kadang terdengar antara Kick dan Bass yang terdengar jelas kalo Bass nya memantul. Jika dalam kehidupan nyata (Analog) maka dalam mixer studio, mixer slider pada Channel Bass bergerak otomatis naik turun seirama dengan KICK. Berarti PEAK dari KICK mengontrol gerak dari Mixer Slider Bass, cara mudahnya seperti itu. Nah, kali ini aku mo nerapin metode itu pada mixer Fruity Loops Studio, kira-kira seperti apa caranya??

YUPPP . . . kita gunakan Fruity Peak Controller. Langsung pada kasusnya saja :)
dalam hal ini KICK mengontrol Mixer Slider level Channel Bass.

1. Routingkan instrumen per Channel pada Mixer

2. Masukkan Fruity Peak Controller pada channel Kick
defaultnya indikator mute akan hidup, oleh karena itu harus kita matikan dahulu

3. Kita Link-kan Mixer Level Slider channel Bass pada Peak Controller
klik kanan pada level slider bass

4. Muncul Remote Controll Setting
pilih Internal Controller -> Peak Ctrl(Kick)-Peak

5. Setting gerak Slider bass dgn mengatur knob pada Fruity Peak Controller

knob 1 -> peak base level : posisi awal ketinggian slider level
knob 2 -> peak amount : gap / jarak pergerakan slider dari posisi awal
monitor 3 -> tension : tekanan yg diberikan pada slider
knob 4 -> peak decay speed : cepat / lambatnya pergerakan slider kembali ke posisi awal

Garis besarnya seperti itu untuk hal yang lain bisa dieksplor sendiri :)

Mengatasi Tubrukan Freq Dengan Side Chain Compression

Kali ini aku mo bahas tentang Side Chainning Compression Method untuk mengatasi tubrukan frekuensi pada instrumen. Secara garis besar jika terjadi tubrukan freq, maka sound yang dihasilkan juga tidak nyaman didengar dan terkesan tenggelam, ada beberapa metode untuk mengatasi hal itu namun di postingan ini aku mo ngebahas lingkup Side chain :)
langsung pada prakteknya saja ya :) & dengarkan hasilnya sendiri supaya gampang dimengerti :p hhe

Contoh kasus kali ini adalah terjadi tubrukan freq anatara KICK dgn ARP

Routing pada Mixer dan Sidechaining :
pilih Kick, klik kanan pada bawah meter level ARP, pilih SIDECHAIN TO THIS TRACK

Masukkan Fruity Limiter pada ARP

Masukkan (Routing) instrumen yg akan kita sidechaning dalam hal ini KICK , pilih menu COMP (ada LIMIT dan COMP pada Fruity Limiter, pilih COMP) Klik kanan pada bagian angka side chain, nanti akan keluar nama instrumen yg akan di sidechain (KICK)

Atur Threshold, Ratio, Gain serta Ceiling nya :)

Di postingan kali ini aku mo sedikit share tips Ghost Channel di piano roll. Kebanyakan kemarin temen-temen minta dibuatkan tutorial tentang Ghost Channel. OK, langsung saja, Ghost channel adalah tampilan bayangan pada piano roll yang sudah dipakai pada instrumen lain tetapi ditampilkan pada piano roll instrument yg akan kita gambar, garis besarnya seperti itu. untuk lebih jelasnya kita langsung mencobanya.

langkah-langkahnya adalah sebagai berikut :

1. misal kita sudah menggambar Roll pada Hi-Hat tetapi kita juga akan melihatnya pada saat menggambar roll pada Snare, kita masuk pada Roll Hi-Hat dan aktifkan Ghost Channel nya dengan mengklik tanda segitiga kecil di pojok kiri atas, pilih HELPERS -> GHOST CHANNELS (Alt + V)

2. kita buka piano roll untuk snare, dan WHOAALLAAAA . . . roll dari Hi-Hat juga tampil di bagian Snare dlm bentuk bayangan :)
